Cambridge Devised Theatre presents three triumphant women:
Ellen Terry...

1910. The celebrated Victorian actress Ellen Terry is about to begin a tour of America with her lecture on Shakespeare's feisty, troubled and sometimes triumphant women. A puckish stage manager helps, and hinders, her preparations by drawing her back into the dramatic scenes of her own extraordinary life.

2012. Cambridge Devised Theatre presents this witty and moving new play, which explors the complex interactions between a 'modern' woman, Victorian celebrity and Shakespeare's art.

2013. Ellen: Her Triumphant Women is touring in East Anglia, Kent and the South of England. Please see the Ellen page and the touring details.

...and Emily Wilding Davison

The one who threw herself under the horse

In the centenary of her death at the Derby in June 1913, this iconic but enigmatic suffragette’s life is movingly portrayed by Elizabeth Crarer. Please see our Emily page.

and (New) Lady Constance

Cambridge Devised Theatre is committed to producing entertaining modern plays on a basis of thorough historical research, innovative devising, a strong text and high-quality artistic collaboration.
